How I Found My Voice: Aisha #ResilienceofChange
Change is never easy—it takes courage, knowledge, and resilience. My name is Aisha, and as a youth leader in my community, I have experienced this firsthand.
When GGBK representatives began visiting our community, I joined their sessions with curiosity. They taught us about child protection, our rights, survival, development, participation, and safety. Through these sessions, I began to see the world differently. I realized that child marriage is illegal, and that every child has the right to live freely and pursue their dreams.
Before this, my family had arranged my marriage. I felt scared and trapped. But the knowledge and confidence I gained through GGBK’s sessions gave me the courage to speak to my parents and stop the marriage. It was a moment of resilience—choosing change, even when it was difficult.
Today, I am studying in Class IX, dreaming of a brighter future, and standing as an example for other children in my community. I know that if any challenge arises, I can reach out to GGBK, and they will support me.
My journey has taught me that resilience is the seed of change. When young people are aware, empowered, and supported, they can transform their lives, inspire others, and create lasting change in their communities.
